I can never repay you for all the times you sat and listened patiently while I cried over nonsense. All the times you would snap me back to reality and cheer me up. Helping me to remember who I am, and to stay true to myself. You are the reason I was able to get off the streets and into a place to live. You have saved countless lives Omer, mine included. And I'm so grateful I was able to know you. I'm grown up now and will always have the memories of you making me laugh and me sneaking you pizza from meetings. You will be missed dearly. Thank you for everything you have done. ❤️

To meet Omer was to fall in love with that laugh, that smile and that infectious personality. The world was a better place for the time you were here. May you rest in peace and and forever live your best day. My sincere condolences to the family.

I have never met Omer but work with his mother.
The ample personal messages posted here demonstrate to the world he was an astonishingly great, loving, and extremely helpful guy. He positively touched so many lives and his passing is definitely a big loss to his family and the community. My most sincere condolences to his family and everyone. Rest in Peace OG.

I met Omer recently when his Mom, Semra, brought him to my Pilates class. He was always quick witted and tried everything I demonstrated with a great spirit of “Okay, let’s give this a go”! He often had an injury of some kind from playing soccer but never let that stop him from participating. The hugs I saw him give to his Mom and Marcel were heart warming and so affectionate. When I heard the news I was shocked and dismayed. He was to join our classes this session as well. It just feels like a bright light was taken too soon. Although I had not had the opportunity of getting g to know him outside of class just yet, I was hoping to at something point. It’s with a heavy/sad heart that I will not have that chance. In the brief time I got to know Omer I knew him to be a good, kind-hearted, family-loving man and a good sport. With a fantastic smile!!
The Pilates peeps will miss you Omer. ????

Omie, my Turkish delight... why? how? This breaks my heart, I will miss you my work partner, my desk partner. Truly empty without you. I did something really nice for you at your desk, I know you would love it and tell me how sweet I am. I will miss your morning and night hugs, I will miss you checking in on me 1000x/day, your willingness to help all the time, our random noises, you always knew how to cheer a sister up. No one deserves this, but you will always have a special place in my heart, Bad dog. Hard to believe you are never coming back, I tried to tell Punchie, your Monkey... didn't go so well. No one had your sense of humor. Rest in peace my friend, cheers to a good cup of Bridgehead coffee that you loved so much XO

When I first arrived at the central office in February 2019, Omer was one of the first people I met. Three things stood out about Omer: His gigantic Sens flag on his pod, his Manchester United mug, and his warm welcoming smile. Omer and I would see each other almost every day as row neighbours. He would always take the time to say hi, chirp me about hockey, and would always brighten our days with his wit and his attitude. He cared for his clients, and was always willing to step in and help where he could.
He is missed at our office, and I am glad I got the chance to meet and work with him.

Omer quickly entered the lives of many youth and young adults across Ottawa, having an unmeasurable impact in the lives of many his compassionate nature, his karisma will be missed but not forgotten as his inspiration and motivation will remain with everyone who has been moved by his kind and supportive acts.

There are an incredible amount of young individuals who have been supported by Omer, where he's gone above and beyond the call of duty to inspire & build greatness, self worth, positivity whilst pursuing his love of Social Work.

<3 RIP
