It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stewart George Gray, in Ottawa on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 35.
Loving husband of Cori Fenwick. Son of Gordon and Jerry Gray. Brother of Casey Gray (Phil D’Amour). Son-in-law of Paul and Deborah Fenwick. Uncle to Dayton, Willow, Autumn, Levi, Jordan and Vivienne. Brother-in-law of Zack (Monica). Grandson of Granny Gray and grandson-in-law to Vera Bakonyi. A beloved cousin and friend to all on both sides.
Stewart is leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness and left his mark on every single person he encountered whether it was a one-time meeting or a lifetime of friendship.
Born on August 15, 1989, in Montreal, Quebec, he grew up with passion and a zest for life and adventure with dreams to travel the world. He was known for his love of Food, friends, animals, music and his beloved Montreal Canadiens.
Stewart met the love of his life, Cori, in Toronto in 2017. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, shared adventures, unwavering support for one another, and the deepest love they could have ever imagined for themselves.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends while gathering for meaningful conversations.
Family and friends are invited to A Funeral Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral (385 Sussex Drive, Ottawa), on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to CAMH. We invite those who are unable to attend in person to please attend via livestream.
Stewart will forever be remembered as a vibrant soul with the biggest smile, whose energy and warmth brightened every room he entered. His memory will live on in the in all of us for eternity. Stew would want us to live our lives to the fullest in his honour and let’s do him proud.

I first met Stewart at Mt Pleasant school…he was in grade 3…I was the lunch monitor…he had such an engaging smile and was such a sweet boy…truthfully…he was one of my favourites!
I saw more of Stewart as the years went on….as he was friends with my son, Nick…it was always a pleasure to have him in our house…always polite, well behaved and fun to be around.
Stewart was a wonderful person…he will be missed by many but all the good memories will last forever❤️
