It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stewart George Gray, in Ottawa on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 35.
Loving husband of Cori Fenwick. Son of Gordon and Jerry Gray. Brother of Casey Gray (Phil D’Amour). Son-in-law of Paul and Deborah Fenwick. Uncle to Dayton, Willow, Autumn, Levi, Jordan and Vivienne. Brother-in-law of Zack (Monica). Grandson of Granny Gray and grandson-in-law to Vera Bakonyi. A beloved cousin and friend to all on both sides.
Stewart is leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness and left his mark on every single person he encountered whether it was a one-time meeting or a lifetime of friendship.
Born on August 15, 1989, in Montreal, Quebec, he grew up with passion and a zest for life and adventure with dreams to travel the world. He was known for his love of Food, friends, animals, music and his beloved Montreal Canadiens.
Stewart met the love of his life, Cori, in Toronto in 2017. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, shared adventures, unwavering support for one another, and the deepest love they could have ever imagined for themselves.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends while gathering for meaningful conversations.
Family and friends are invited to A Funeral Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral (385 Sussex Drive, Ottawa), on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to CAMH. We invite those who are unable to attend in person to please attend via livestream.
Stewart will forever be remembered as a vibrant soul with the biggest smile, whose energy and warmth brightened every room he entered. His memory will live on in the in all of us for eternity. Stew would want us to live our lives to the fullest in his honour and let’s do him proud.

We are saddened to hear of Stewart’s passing. Words cannot convey the immeasurable loss we feel. Hearts have never been as heavy. Our memories are with him, and his family, and the company we kept on a tropical holiday. A most handsome charming man of confidence and grace, who entertained and was entertained by the love and laughter we all felt.
Sincerely, with deepest condolences, Robert & Fiona

Our hearts are in pieces and we are devastated. Know that we are offering you any strength we can give to help you stand, all the light we can shine to reduce your darkness, and all the hope we can create to fend off the despair in your broken hearts. I wish we could give you what you really want and I’m truly sorry we can’t. He was beauty and good in a world and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Nothing makes sense.
We wish we could ease your pain.
We are so sorry.

It has been decades since I have seen Stuwie, yet it is devastating for all to lose someone vibrant in their prime.
My heart goes to wife and children and all his extended family and a special note to Jerry and Gordon for losing a child is a most horrible thing.
My most sincere condolences
Jeff and Shelley Bray

It was a delight to know and spend time with Stew in my teenage years as a dormitary roomate. He offered me home (both literally and emotionally) away from my distant home in Korea and provided great warmth and joy to everyone around him.
A moment I will always remember: upon my arrival at BCS (~24 hrs away from my home) and after our first soccer practice, he came up to me at the front door and asked “are we friends?” I immediately felt safe and friendly to be at BCS.
He will be dearly missed and may he rest in peace and warmth always. I will be praying from Korea.
