It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stewart George Gray, in Ottawa on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 35.

Loving husband of Cori Fenwick. Son of Gordon and Jerry Gray. Brother of Casey Gray (Phil D’Amour). Son-in-law of Paul and Deborah Fenwick. Uncle to Dayton, Willow, Autumn, Levi, Jordan and Vivienne. Brother-in-law of Zack (Monica).  Grandson of Granny Gray and grandson-in-law to Vera Bakonyi. A beloved cousin and friend to all on both sides.

Stewart is leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness and left his mark on every single person he encountered whether it was a one-time meeting or a lifetime of friendship.

Born on August 15, 1989, in Montreal, Quebec, he grew up with passion and a zest for life and adventure with dreams to travel the world. He was known for his love of Food, friends, animals, music and his beloved Montreal Canadiens.

Stewart met the love of his life, Cori, in Toronto in 2017. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, shared adventures, unwavering support for one another, and the deepest love they could have ever imagined for themselves.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends while gathering for meaningful conversations.

Family and friends are invited to A Funeral Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral (385 Sussex Drive, Ottawa), on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to CAMH. We invite those who are unable to attend in person to please attend via livestream

Stewart will forever be remembered as a vibrant soul with the biggest smile, whose energy and warmth brightened every room he entered. His memory will live on in the in all of us for eternity. Stew would want us to live our lives to the fullest in his honour and let’s do him proud.

My deepest sincerest condolences. Stewart was a light in the world from such a young age. He was wise beyond his years, a soul of such depth, kindness and love. Every person who was blessed to have even spent a few moments of time speaking with and getting to know the incredible energy, hope, and strength Stewart excuded, without his own incredibly humble self realizing what a rare purity he was and will forever be in this world and beyond. Sending strength and love to Gray and Fenwick families during this incredible difficult time. May you forever Rest in blissful peace Stewart.

My sincere condolences. I reconnected with Stewart last year after we had been classmates in high school. What began as a simple business conversation blossomed into a series of heartfelt discussions on a variety of topics. I was deeply moved by the depth of his soul, the love he expressed when speaking about Cori and his family, and his genuine desire to make a positive difference in the world. I had been looking forward to many years of friendship with a kindred spirit and was shocked to learn this would not be possible.
Rest in peace, brother.

My deepest sympathies to the Gray and Fenwick families. Stew was a deeply kind, energetic soul with an infectious smile. I will never forget his absolutely bone crushing hugs, and will continue to think of him whenever I hear a Nirvana or Foo Fighters song on the radio. May he rest in peace.
