In October 2011, the Ottawa Police Association and Senior Officers’ Association, with the support and collaboration of the Ottawa Police Service and The Beechwood Cemetery Foundation, initiated the development of the Ottawa Police Service Memorial Cemetery. This initiative was later strengthened by the partnership of the Ottawa Police Veterans Association, contributing to the historical and event-based efforts at Beechwood.
The cemetery serves as a lasting tribute to the members of the Ottawa Police Service, providing a place where their dedication and pride in their service are publicly displayed. It also offers a central location for their families to be buried and visited for generations to come.
