It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Gil Rumstein, who passed on January 19th, 2025, at the age of 61. Gil was the dedicated husband of Michele Hamilton and loving father to Natania Rumstein, Rachel and Matt Conley, Kato Hamilton and Jack Webster, and Maghen Hamilton and MJ Salhab. He was a proud grandfather to Raffi Conley, Skye Webster, Rami and Amira Salhab. His warmth, intelligence, humour, and love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Gil’s memory will forever live on in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Beechwood Cemetery at (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa), followed by a burial. My sincerest sympathy to Gil's wife, children and family. Gil was a kind man who was open to offering advice, direction and support when I first began working in mediation. I will remember him always with respect and gratitude. May he rest in peace.

Gil had a such a lovely way about him. I always enjoyed his humour and the way he made you feel. I watched him in action in court, and boy he was impressive. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and great human being. You will be missed

To the Rumstein Family,

Our sincere condolences for your loss.

I (Leah) had the pleasure of doing a family law internship with Gil. Gil was a phenomenal lawyer and terrific mentor. His kindness, compassion and dedication to his clients are what marked me the most during my time with him. He was always in a cheerful mood and was a true joy to work alongside. He will truly be missed.

I (James) had the pleasure of playing soccer with Gil - many happy memories!

Sending prayers your way as you move through this difficult time. Gil will surely be missed!
