It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Gil Rumstein, who passed on January 19th, 2025, at the age of 61. Gil was the dedicated husband of Michele Hamilton and loving father to Natania Rumstein, Rachel and Matt Conley, Kato Hamilton and Jack Webster, and Maghen Hamilton and MJ Salhab. He was a proud grandfather to Raffi Conley, Skye Webster, Rami and Amira Salhab. The beloved son of Atara and the late Aharon Rumstein, caring brother to Grace Cohen and Peter Archibald and a cherished uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

His warmth, intelligence, humour, and love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Gil’s memory will forever live on in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Beechwood Cemetery at (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa), followed by a burial. Shiva will be observed at 22 Paula Crescent immediately following the services, Thursday January 23 at 4:00-7:00pm, and Friday January 24 at 11:00-2:00pm.

A loss to all of us and the world. The easy smile and best sense of humour. An incredible lawyer that cared about every single person.
