Fernande Rose Marie Madsen (Drouin), went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the age of 91. Born in Hull, Quebec, on May 18, 1934, she was the beloved wife of the late Jens Erik Madsen, daughter of the late Olivier Drouin and the late Laura Trudeau.
Fernande will be lovingly remembered by her dear daughter Priscilla and her dear son Eric (Stephanie), her cherished grandchildren: Deandre (Jessica), Kendall Boucher-Tracey (Kayla), Charlee and Roman, her treasured great-grandchildren: Amilio and Amia, her sisters: Lise (Réal Gagnon) and Hélène Drouin as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Predeceased by her siblings: Gérard (late Laurette Beaudoin), Olivette, Françoise, André (late Annette Bérubé), Jeannine, Desneiges (late Georges Lemieux), Noëlla (late Gérard St-Denis), and Laurette (late John O’Reilly).
Fernande was a Godly woman; a woman of dignity and faith. Even amidst her health challenges, her sense of humour, quick wit and compassion for others never wavered. She was a testament to a life well-lived and left a lasting legacy of love, courage and grace.
Special thanks to all of the doctors, family, friends, the home care team and all involved in her long-term care.
The interment will be at the at Beechwood Cemetery, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, K1L 8A6 in Ottawa on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 4 pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Tent of David, located on 2197 Old Highway 17 Clarence Rockland ON K4K 1K7 at 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Food Bank (www.ottawafoodbank.ca) would be appreciated.

Gone but not forgotten - missed but know I get to spend eternity with her.
To her family and friends may you all find comfort in good memories and have the hope of seeing her again in heaven.
As a teenager she often drove me from church to her house in that big station wagon which being so tiny she could barely see over the steering wheel and thus not the greatest of drivers ... she was instrumental in helping me become a prayer warrior for there were a few times where I thought we were all going to die... we laughed about that just a couple of weeks ago at her hospital bedside. She has taught me so much over the last almost 4 decades. Love and admiration for all she fought through. 🧡

Fernande, such a lovely lady, who loved the Lord and her family, so very much. I had the privilege to see her daughter Priscilla take such good care of her Mom in these last years. This is to your honour my friend Priscilla. You were amazing with your Mom. You sacrificed so much because you loved her so. And she loved you! My sincere condolences to you Priscilla, to Eric and all your family.
Fern was an amazing lady. She was always happy to see me. She loved it when I would tease her but she also knew how to dish it. She would call her walker, her new Cadillac.
Fern and her daughter, Priscilla, had such a beautiful bond. It was a privilege and honour to be their friend. Fern we are going to miss you here, but we know that you are with Jesus having the best time forever. We will meet again someday, but will not bring your Cadillac 🤣❤️.
