It is with deep sorrow the family of Benedict Ho (Ben), age 93, announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Ben was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Rosa (Koh), who recently passed away in January 2024. He is survived by his loving children, Marie (late Rick Pittuck), Anne, Peter (Giovanna Valente), Kathleen (Gary Illmann), Christine (Robert Gelfand) and Josie (Anthony Costantini). Ben cherished his grand-children Michaela, Andrew, Adrianna (Jesse Holder), Caroline, Jonathan and Lauren, and was a proud great-grandfather to Ezra Holder. Ben was predeceased by his sister, Veronica and brother, Austin. He leaves behind a sister, Scholastica, a brother, Raphael, many nieces and nephews and an army of lifelong friends.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the family will be receiving condolences at Beechwood Cemetery from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A short prayer service led by Ben’s Brother Knights of the Knights of Columbus will begin at 8:30 p.m. for those wishing to join in prayer.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Infant Catholic Church, 6658 Bilberry Dr., Orleans, with a reception to follow in the church hall.

Ben’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Chartwell, New Edinburgh Square Residence and the healthcare team at Montfort Hospital, especially Dr. D’Aoust-Bernard and Dr. McKay for their kindness and compassion. Our father spoke very highly of all of you.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Montfort Hospital Foundation in Ben’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

I was deeply saddened to hear about your Dad's passing. He was a true gentleman and a man of faith, and I feel blessed to have known him. Your Dad's kindness left a lasting impression on me, whether it was through his warm hospitality at your house, taking me golfing, or sharing his amazing cooking, which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Your Mom and Dad lived an amazing life together and raised a wonderful family. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. My you find comfort in the memories of your Dad and in the love and support you have for each other.

With heartfelt sympathy.

Chris, Josie, Peter, Anne and Kate, my deepest sympathies for the enormous loss you and your families must be feeling. Uncle Ben, you recently told me dying is inevitable, but that what we believe is the pathway to being at peace with all things. You did not seem afraid. You did not seem sad. I want to think this is not so much an end for you, but the realisation of your Faith and hope. May the Lord you spent a lifetime being loyal to be as keen to greet you as you were to know Him. May the Christ you worshiped in awe be your eternal forgiveness and comforter. May the Holy Spirit who metered your life now be the perpetual light granted onto you. PS: Say hello to Pa for me. That is a conversation no one else would be able to get two words into.

Glad we had the chance to fulfill your final craving of Belgian mussels when you visited us in September.
Not forgetting the kassler, chased down with a real local beer in Mondschau.
Sure beats a Stella Artois eh? 😂.
❤️❤️❤️❤️

My deepest sympathy to the Ho family. Your parents and I were neighbours for several years until they moved to the Chartwell retirement home. I remember a kind, friendly and helpful couple. May the passing of time ease your pain and leave you to cherish the happy memories.
