It is with deep sorrow the family of Benedict Ho (Ben), age 93, announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Ben was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Rosa (Koh), who recently passed away in January 2024. He is survived by his loving children, Marie (late Rick Pittuck), Anne, Peter (Giovanna Valente), Kathleen (Gary Illmann), Christine (Robert Gelfand) and Josie (Anthony Costantini). Ben cherished his grand-children Michaela, Andrew, Adrianna (Jesse Holder), Caroline, Jonathan and Lauren, and was a proud great-grandfather to Ezra Holder. Ben was predeceased by his sister, Veronica and brother, Austin. He leaves behind a sister, Scholastica, a brother, Raphael, many nieces and nephews and an army of lifelong friends.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the family will be receiving condolences at Beechwood Cemetery from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A short prayer service led by Ben’s Brother Knights of the Knights of Columbus will begin at 8:30 p.m. for those wishing to join in prayer.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Infant Catholic Church, 6658 Bilberry Dr., Orleans, with a reception to follow in the church hall.

Ben’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Chartwell, New Edinburgh Square Residence and the healthcare team at Montfort Hospital, especially Dr. D’Aoust-Bernard and Dr. McKay for their kindness and compassion. Our father spoke very highly of all of you.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Montfort Hospital Foundation in Ben’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

Ben was the elder statesmen of the Knights of Columbus in Ottawa, his wisdom and mentorship will be missed by all. He was kind considerate was quick with a joke when called for and we will miss his Asia flare at Council meals.

Remembering the fond memories of Grand Uncle Ben especially his positive attitude to life. He is always smiling and his undying love for Grand Aunt Rosa will always be cherished. Their love bond in this life is now extended to the heavenly life where they are united once again, looking down on their big family, smiling and proud of their children and family's achievements.
Deepest condolences to the entire family!!
