It is with profound sadness that we announce that our beloved Alex fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 64 years. Beloved son of the late Fares (Frank) Monsour and the late Helen (Elaine) Monsour (née Nassrallah). Loving brother of the late Alfred (“Alfie”) Monsour, Eli Monsour, and Alexa Monsour. He will be sadly missed by his many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Alex was a compassionate and caring individual, whose personality and humour would often brighten a room. His laugh and personality were infectious. He loved his family and friends, and he was universally loved in return. Alex had a passion for cars and the pursuit of knowledge. He was a source of strength and stability for all who knew him. Alex will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family will receive visitors and Mass attendees at St. Elias Cathedral, located at 750 Ridgewood Avenue, Ottawa, ON, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11 a.m. Mass. Burial to follow at Beechwood Cemetery, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, ON. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Elias Cathedral or a charity of your choosing.

I knew Alex many years ago when we used to go to Shooters. We lost touch over the years as we got on with our lives. I am so shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. Gone too soon.
Sincerest condolences to all the family x

My family and I only knew Alex briefly as a friendly face at our favourite breakfast spot, but we know he will be dearly missed in the community. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

Rest in peace my friend... You were the best and longest friend. The impact you had on my life will never be forgotten and I hope you know how appreciative I was of what you have done for me. I am truly at a loss for words and still in such disbelief... I will miss you dearly

Deepest condoleances to Alex's family and friends. Me and a number of CBSA employees and Gabriel's patrons on Metcalfe were touched and impacted by Alex's vitality, infectious happiness, humour, and generosity. Wr never left the restaurant without a smile on our faces thanks to his superior and personalized client service. Rest in Peace my friend xox

Oh Alexa, you and Eli are in my thoughts - Alex was a one of a kind, with an easy smile and a quick comment, he always made everyone feel welcome. I am so very saddened to hear of his passing.

I was so sad to hear of Alex's passing. I knew Alex from my days working downtown when he worked at Gabriel's. He was such a pleasant man with a great sense of humour. It was impressive to see how he remembered everyone's name. My codolences to the family and close friends. RIP Alex
