It is with profound sadness that we announce that our beloved Alex fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 64 years. Beloved son of the late Fares (Frank) Monsour and the late Helen (Elaine) Monsour (née Nassrallah). Loving brother of the late Alfred (“Alfie”) Monsour, Eli Monsour, and Alexa Monsour. He will be sadly missed by his many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Alex was a compassionate and caring individual, whose personality and humour would often brighten a room. His laugh and personality were infectious. He loved his family and friends, and he was universally loved in return. Alex had a passion for cars and the pursuit of knowledge. He was a source of strength and stability for all who knew him. Alex will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family will receive visitors and Mass attendees at St. Elias Cathedral, located at 750 Ridgewood Avenue, Ottawa, ON, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11 a.m. Mass. Burial to follow at Beechwood Cemetery, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, ON. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Elias Cathedral or a charity of your choosing.

Alex was our neighbor and he will deeply be missed. He was a good person, always waving hi or stopping for a quick chat, he had a great sense of humor, he was patient with my grandma. He was our neighbor almost my whole life, may he rest in peace. He will truly be missed.

It’s hard to find the words when someone so special leaves this world. Alex was a kind and caring friend. His kindness, laughter, and unwavering presence brought light to so many lives, he would be greatly missed.

May he rest in peace, and may we find comfort in the legacy of love he leaves behind.

a tragic and painful loss for those nearest and dearest to Alex, notably his siblings my dear friend Alexa and her brother Eli. My heart goes out to both of you. Alex was a sweet, funny, positive presence who knew how to light up a room and make everyone comfortable. May your cherished memories of him ease your pain during this terrible time of grief. Rest in peace Alex.

Our deepest condolences for Eli and Alexa. We know there are no words that can ease your pain. Sending healing prayers and comfort during this difficult time.
True friends are like family. Alex, your loyalty ran deep – even if you teased us one moment, you would defend us fiercely the next. Behind your jokes was a heart that cared deeply for your family and friends. Saying goodbye is one of life’s hardest things to do. But we will remember the joy you brought, the strength you gave and the love that will continue on. Big Al – you were and always will be Family! Forever in our hearts. xx

Alex is one of the most genuine people I've ever met. Laughter and joy but also kindness and thoughtfulness were some of the traits he embodied. As many have said he never forgot a name or face... and our conversations were always full of laughter. Thank you for brightening our mornings Alex, you often helped start my day on the roght foot. My condolences to all of Alex's family, friends and colleagues.

Visited Gabriel’s Kanata this week and was shocked and saddened to hear of Alex’s sudden passing. I was just there and saw him two weeks ago and was greeted by his ever calm and engaging manner. Gabriel’s truly won’t be the same without his presence and the entertaining side of him. My thoughts are with his family and friends, he truly will be missed.

I still can't believe you are gone. This world will never be the same without you in it. Your friendship was a gift to Norm and I. It will never end but will always remain in our hearts. Sleep well my friend.
