Roger Beland

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Beland on April 26, 2026, at 7:18 a.m., at the age of 79.

Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Denise Beland (née Charette); his sons, James and Daniel Beland; James’ partner, Bevan Pearce; Daniel’s partner, Dana Ionescu; his brother, Gerald Beland; and extended family and friends.

Roger spent 35 years in public service with the Government of Canada, where he worked as a telecommunications specialist. He was well respected by his colleagues and took pride in his work, showing the same dedication and reliability in his career that he brought to his family life.

Roger was a devoted husband, father, and provider who worked hard throughout his life to care for his family. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humour. He had a way of making people laugh and bringing warmth to those around him.

Roger was also a talented and creative person who enjoyed fishing, painting, drawing, golfing, flying, and music. In his younger years, he was part of a band, reflecting his love of creativity and connection with others.

Above all, Roger loved being at home with his family. That was where he was happiest, surrounded by the people he loved most. He gave his family a life built on love, support, humour, and quiet strength.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive condolences Tuesday May 12, 2026 from 1:30 pm to 3:30pm at Beechwood National Memorial Centre (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, ON).
