It is with deep sorrow that the family of Robert George Hawes age 87 of Nepean Ontario, announce his passing on Thursday April 30, 2026. Born on February 5th, 1939, in South Porcupine Ontario, Bob’s career was dedicated to the Canadian Air Force as a pilot and proudly served 35 years in uniform. He will be remembered for his passion for flying and the great joy he had recounting his many flying stories. Bob’s career began as a radar tech later earning his “wings” in 1968. His flying years included the Tutor, (Gimli Manitoba), Expeditor (Portage Manitoba) Argus (Greenwood Nova Scotia) Hercules (Winnipeg Manitoba) and Tracker (Summerside PEI).

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Patricia and children: Victoria Steele (Jeff), Bruce Hawes (Danielle); grandchildren: Natasha Campbell (Marc), Brittany Ford (Chris), Robert and Samantha; and great grandchildren: Landon, Allie, Rayah, Nate, Theo and Delilah.

  5. I was really sad to hear of Bob’s passing—Mr. H to me. What stays with me most is how much he brought out the best in my parents. I always knew that when he visited, there would be plenty of laughter and warmth in our home.

  8. I was so sorry to see the news of Mr Hawes’ passing. The Hawes’ friendship of many decades meant a great deal to our parents Robert and Erma and to our family. I still remember our days in Greenwood. My sympathies to Mrs Hawes, Vicky, Bruce and families.
