It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Anne Hubers who died peacefully in Ottawa, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Born on January 22, 1956, she leaves behind her loving husband, Bill Hubers, daughters Amy Collins (Matt) and Lisa Hubers (Michael Horler) as well as grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Sophie and Luke. She also leaves behind her mother, Anne Ellis, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Catherine was a loving wife who took Bill to places he never would have otherwise gone. They loved sharing passions of swimming, skiing, walking and camping. Among her proudest achievements was raising her two daughters and being Grandma to her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for hosting tea parties, building snowmen, making dirt and worm cakes and picking apples and strawberries.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a celebration of life at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Friday, July 18th, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Catherine’s name to the cancer charity of your choice.
Thank you to all those who surrounded Catherine with love and to all those who remain present during this difficult time.

Catherine was one of those special people that has touched my life and brought happiness. Her enthusiasm, curiosity and passion were contagious and will be sorely missed. My spirits are lifted as I see her living on, reflected in the memories and mannerisms of those she loved most. Catherine, you are missed, and you are remembered.

Bill, I am so sorry to hear of Catherine’s passing. My heart felt condolences to you and your family.
I met Catherine 3 years through book club. A wonderful additional to our group. She was insightful, funny, choose excellent books for our club to read. Catherine loved her family so much and when she spoke of them there was always a special lightness in her voice and in her eyes. We will miss this very special woman and I honoured that we were able to spend time in her company. My sincere condolences, Joanne & Les
