It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Anne Hubers who died peacefully in Ottawa, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Born on January 22, 1956, she leaves behind her loving husband, Bill Hubers, daughters Amy Collins (Matt) and Lisa Hubers (Michael Horler) as well as grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Sophie and Luke. She also leaves behind her mother, Anne Ellis, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Catherine was a loving wife who took Bill to places he never would have otherwise gone. They loved sharing passions of swimming, skiing, walking and camping. Among her proudest achievements was raising her two daughters and being Grandma to her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for hosting tea parties, building snowmen, making dirt and worm cakes and picking apples and strawberries.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a celebration of life at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Friday, July 18th, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Catherine’s name to the cancer charity of your choice.
Thank you to all those who surrounded Catherine with love and to all those who remain present during this difficult time.

She will be sorely missed at our book club. She could be relied on for her inciteful comments and interesting book choices. But we will also miss her outgoing personality.

My heart goes out to Cat's family. I know how much she loved you all and she has left an impact on everyone that took the time to talk with her. I was privileged to spend a month alone with her in Africa and we had many heart to heart talks every evening. She was real, she was honest and she was compassionate. I will miss her always.

Our deepest condolences Bill, Amy and Lisa and family on the passing of Catherine. It was so nice seeing her last summer and she brought water balloons and played with the kids. She was so proud of her daughters and grandkids. And laughed about all the places she got Bill to go. I will always remember her smiles that day. Hold each other tight, thinking of you all. Gone way to soon. Mom was saddened to hear, she was around a lot when she was little. Marion Meek sends her condolences too.

Sending love and light to the entire family. I didn’t know Catherine well but enjoyed the time I did get to spend with her. She will be missed.
Catherine was a fun loving energetic lady.
I admired how she would walk to Landsdowne and volunteer her services and walk home.
, I was amazed by her enjoyment going to visit and babysit her grandchildren.and the pleasure of taking her grand daughter on OC transpo, and baking with her.
It was sad to see her suffering the past couple of months and her happiness that Lisa and family were coming home,
Catherine was my friend and Iwill miss her
