Passed away peacefully at her Serenacare home on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her husband, James “Jim” in 2010. Loving mom of Martin (Rita), Bernadette, Cathie and Bill (Lauren). Much loved grandma of Amanda, Stephen, Kelsey, Jimmy, Gabrielle, Melanie and Alexa. Caring great grandma of Adryck, Audrey, Wesley, Blake and Serenity. Dot will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A woman of great faith, Dot will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness and never forgetting to send a card for every occasion. With a childhood in Prince Edward Island and travels to interesting places in the world with Jim, Dot was always “at home” in PEI. Special thanks to all who cared and supported Dot throughout her life and in her last days with her Serenacare family. Friends may call at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON), on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 from 6-8p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow. Iam truly sorry for your loss. I am so honored to have gotten to know Dot over these last 2 years. Her smile, her frank honesty and dry wit were the brightest part of my day. She is truly missed. I will never forget her.
I am so glad that Paul, Mary, Helen and I got to go to Ottawa for Dot's wake and funeral. I was so honoured to be asked to do a readingat the service. I oved our visits at the cottage. Rest in peace Aunt Dot.
