Passed away peacefully at her Serenacare home on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her husband, James “Jim” in 2010. Loving mom of Martin (Rita), Bernadette, Cathie and Bill (Lauren). Much loved grandma of Amanda, Stephen, Kelsey, Jimmy, Gabrielle, Melanie and Alexa. Caring great grandma of Adryck, Audrey, Wesley, Blake and Serenity. Dot will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A woman of great faith, Dot will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness and never forgetting to send a card for every occasion. With a childhood in Prince Edward Island and travels to interesting places in the world with Jim, Dot was always “at home” in PEI. Special thanks to all who cared and supported Dot throughout her life and in her last days with her Serenacare family.  Friends may call at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON), on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 from 6-8p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences, tributes or donations may be made at www.beechwoodottawa.ca

I've known Dot all my life and spent many an evening giving her a hard time while she babysat me and my siblings. Have spent many nights up past my bedtime listening to Dot's stories and her to mine. You have been missed for a while and will continue to be missed in my life. You were my friend, my aunt and so much more. I'll see you again in the afteflife.

Our deepest sympathy to you all and to us all too. Dot was always in my life. She was there when I was born and lived with us in Montreal for quite awhile . She knew how to comb my hair without hurting me. She always remembered us at birthdays and Christmas. She, CarolAnn and I had many all-nighters in Ottawa talking 'til dawn. She will always be lovingly remembered and missed. Sending love to you all. 💔

To Cathie, Bernie, Billy, & Martin: Aunt Dot: The great times we all had as you welcomed us into your home in Ottawa and the Cottage on the Island at any time! Always with open arms you took the time to feed us, listen to us and tell us many stories. I think of the times you and I would go to Bingo especially on your birthday where you would receive a free nights bingo pack of cards! You will be missed greatly but know that you will always live on in my heart. May you rest easy with Jim and Mandy in thethe next world. RIP sweet lady. I loved you so much and will miss you terribly. Love Ann & Paul.
