We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Yvonne Elinor Scott (nee Thompson) on Saturday, 28 October 2023 at home at the age of 81 years.
Elinor (El) will be deeply missed by her loving family - her husband of 57 years Lloyd Scott, her twin brothers Rod and Vince Thompson, her children Rod Scott (Marcia) and Sandra White (Kevin), her grandchildren Christine Antoine (Shane) and Eric Scott (Chelsea ), her great-granddaughter Billie Scott, and her extended family on the East and West coast; her cherished friends; her beloved dog Jovi.
Elinor was a genuinely kind and caring person who freely expressed her love and appreciation for her family and friends. She had a special fondness for young people, eager to hear what they had to say. Whether it was someone she chatted with while walking her dog, or a friendship developed over time, those who met her liked her.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at the Montfort hospital and the Orléans palliative care team for their compassionate care in her final days.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
