Warrant Officer Howard C Pierce passed away peacefully and with dignity at the Queensway Carleton Hospital surrounded by love, at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving wife Helga Pierce of 64 years.
Howard is predeceased by his parents Wilbert Pierce and Stella Pierce (Royce) of Arnprior. Dear brother of Lillis Ashford (Pierce). Predeceased by brothers Allen, Kenneth and sister Lois.
A beloved father, he leaves behind his son Karsten Pierce (Nancy, deceased) and daughter Michele Roth (Brad). He was the cherished Opa to Christoper Pierce (Alissa), Tyler Roth (Alex Strickland) and Tiana Roth (Sean Wallach).
Howard leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Canada, Germany and the United States.
Warrant Officer Pierce CD was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces with 40 years of service. He served with the First and Second Canadian Guards in Germany, Golan Heights Syria, Ismailia Egypt, Cyprus and Isreal. His dedication to the Canadian Military continued on throughout his life and proudly participated in many Remembrance Day services and poppy campaigns.
Howard enjoyed a life filled with a passion for sport. He could be found playing or coaching hockey into his 70’s and working out at the gym into his 80’s. He also played golf, skied and biked. He loved the outdoors and had a most beautiful garden.
As per Howards wishes, cremation has taken place, and immediate family attended his burial at Beechwood Cemetery.
