Theo passed away peacefully between his parents Christina Keys and Kelsey Wagner on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Roger Neilson House in Ottawa.
Theo was born in Aotearoa New Zealand on October 15, 2019, and is loved so much by his big brother Louis Tāne. He is missed deeply by his grandparents Ronald and Dawn Wagner and David and Mary Keys, his aunts and uncles Alexandra, Cheyney, Avaleigh, Brodie, Shawn, Kylie, Gerry, and Kim, and his cousins Bennett, Harrison, Micah, Elle, Ariah, Griffin, Sloane, Nixon, and Hartley.
When Theo was born, he loved listening for the pīwakawaka in the garden in Ōtautahi. He loved red and yellow, Kiri and Lou, Puppy and his bang-bang toys, and most of all, his walker, from which he explored the world. Despite all he went through in his short life, Theo perked up at Louis’s laugh, smiled at Daddy’s voice, and most importantly, found peace on Mummy’s chest.
The family thanks each doctor, nurse, midwife, social worker, recreation therapist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech language therapist, vision therapist, music therapist, osteopath, personal support worker, early childhood educator, naturopath, equipment vendor, community support worker, support staff member, and volunteer that helped Theo.
Donations can be made in Theo’s name to Tamariki Toiora Champion Centre in Aotearoa New Zealand and to Roger Neilson House in Ottawa. Their extraordinary care, and their love for our son, helped us give Theo a quality of life we never thought possible.
At the request of the family, masks are required, and our doors will remain open for the entirety of the service to allow for safe air circulation, so please dress accordingly.
