Blair Dunlop’s sweetheart. Susan was the daughter of Jack and Jessie Wright, the eldest of five: Susan, Roger (Tatiana), Carolyn, Richard and Jackie (Jean-Marie). She was a good sister. Susan was predeceased by her brothers Roger and Richard. Susan was an accomplished Museum and Cultural Consultant and was involved in designing aspects of museums all over the world. Susan loved her hometown of Calgary. She adored her nieces and nephews: Keri, Jamie (Dan), Joe (Natalie), Dan (Michelle), (and their children), Anastasia, Annysia, Alexandra, and Zigy. Susan was a good friend. Pat Rogers, Judy Thompson and so many others would tell you so. After marrying Blair, Susan inherited five boys. Scott, Blake, Craig, Reid and Laird. And then their wives. And then their children and then their grandchildren! Susan was the loved mother-in-law of Joanne, Nora, Mary, Amanda and Elizabeth. She was Grandma to 14 and Great Grandma to 28. Susan always stepped up to help others and contribute to her community. She had a sense of civic duty. Susan was generous with her time and will never be forgotten by the Syrian family she helped to settle in Canada. Susan was politically astute and deliberately well-informed. She believed in caring for the other and despaired at the rise of hate in politics. Susan was a supportive, non-judgemental woman. She always offered an ear and only offered advice when asked. Susan gave so much and expected so little. We hope she knows how much she is loved. Forever and always. Susan always laughed. She was enthusiastic about people’s endeavours, she loved flowers, her garden, golfing, the colours green and yellow, and a meal under the stars in Chelsea with Blair. It’s fabulous!
The family of Susan Dunlop
The family wants to thank the medical, nursing and all staff at the Ottawa Hospital and the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care. A Celebration of Life will be held in the springtime at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa. Susan really suffered for years with her breathing. Please consider donating to the Canadian Lung Association https://www.lung.ca/. Susan also really loved cats. She adopted many, including seniors. Donations to the Cat Rescue Network https://catrescuenetwork.org/ would be much appreciated.

I have been Susan's friend and neighbor for many years. Susan was a very special person ❤ and I will always miss her. Her family has lost a very special Sister and Aunt.

Susan was one of the first consultants Barry and I hired in the earliest days of Lord Cultural Resources. She and Barry had worked together at National Museums Corp. in Ottawa. And now in Toronto she taught Barry and I how to operate a business - with compassion and caring. As Susan’s personal family grow so did our company. Susan mentored staff and clients playing a definitive role as our on-site leader in Dahran Saudi Arabia where she helped their new staff to create the visionary cultural centre called “Ithra”. Susan was an inspiration to many Museum professionals and a true friend to all who knew her.

I worked with Susan for many years and am not surprised to read that she supported a refugee family. I remember her passion for golf and her support for all who worked with her, including me. She is of blessed memory.

The world will be a little darker without Susan’s fun laughter and sense of humour!

My heart is broken. A best friend whose generosity, support and kindness to all she encountered - people and animals - are an inspiration. Her absolute enthusiasm, no matter the circumstances, helped bring others along on the delightful journey of life. Susan lived life fully. "Fabulous" must have been her most used word. I will miss her forever. xxoo

Susan was my sister-in-law for many years. I loved her so much. We would visit her and her wonderful husband, Blair in Victoria and once in Ottawa. We would swim, laugh, eat good food and play golf. She was always fun on the golf course. I saw one of her first museum creations in Victoria. Remember "The Famous Potato" exhibit? She earned the love and respect of everyone she knew.
Much love, Susan.

Susan was an amazing organizer with great attention to detail. She gladly donated her time for the good of our small community. Susan was ready to help where needed, she did it with style and a smile. She always had kind words.
Her presence will be sadly missed.
Have a deep rest, Susan.
Susan was my first cousin and although many miles separated us I never forgot her or the times we had together.
