It is with great sadness we announce the passing of retired RCMP Staff
Sergeant Wayne "Andy" Orville Anderson on August 9th, 2025. Originally from
Pine Falls, Manitoba, born June 20th, 1938, Andy made his home in Ottawa and
was loved and will be missed by his wife (of almost 65 years) Ellen Anne
Anderson, their sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and
nephews and great friends from all over the country. As anyone who has met
Andy can tell you, he's never met a meal he didn't like, and got his greatest joy,
bringing joy to others. Whether it was belting out Sinatra (My Way) at karaoke or
going on golf trips, curling bonspiels or playing cards with his buddies, he loved
sharing a Crown Royal and a laugh with anyone. He was a true lover of life. As a
longstanding member and volunteer at the Legion, we ask that (in lieu of
flowers) donations be made to the Montgomery Legion. Services will be held on
August 20th, 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at Beechwood Cemetery
located at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa K1L 8A6. A recording of the livestream can be viewed here.

Andy was such an important part of my childhood. Growing up beside your family from the time Eric and I were in diapers, he was almost like a second father to me. I’ll always carry those great memories — summers on Long Island, his legendary sneezes, sneaking down late at night for popcorn, the way he could tell a joke better than anyone, and how his laugh filled the room.
He had a gift for making people feel lighter, happier, and at ease just by being there. Even though the years and distance have passed, that warmth never faded. Please know how much he meant to me, and how fondly I will always remember him.

Ellen, Wayne, Eric and family, our deepest sympathies. I remember Andy
always smiling and beaming with pride whenever he spoke of any member
of his family. You were the source of so much of his joy.
Our thoughts are with you.

Sincere condolences to Ellen and the Anderson family on your loss! I have nothing but fond memories of Andy from my days working in the Pickering Building and never having the talent to beat him at Shuffleboard during the many games we played at the Senior NCO's Mess. R.I.P. old friend! You will be missed!
We’ are sorry for your loss, we loved him very much. He was a dear friend. Now he can play golf with Bob in heaven.
