As the early morning light pierced the eastern sky over Almonte on July 23rd , my beautiful bride of over 66 years slipped off her painful mortal coil, and her immortal soul and spirit soared like an eagle to her heavenly home around the throne of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, accompanied joyfully by the angel guardians He had sent to bring her to the place he had prepared for her in His Father’s home. For He has promised, “Let not your heart be troubled . . . In my Father’s house are many mansions . . . I go to prepare a place for you. And . . . I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:1-3). She is now reunited with her grandson, Nathan Mills, who preceded her to that heavenly home. They are awaiting the arrival of their other family and extended family members who also know and love Jesus as their Lord and Saviour!

My kind, loving, and wonderful wife was preceded in her departure by her mother, Edna, her father, John Gordon, her elder brothers, John Angus and his wife, Hazel, James and his wife, Muriel, and Donald (Rose). Her younger sister, Helen Riley (Allister), and her younger brothers Clarence and his wife, Alice, Calvin (Janet), and Lloyd (Maxine) have also left the troubles and trials of this present wicked world behind them forever. She awaits the arrival in their heavenly home of her husband, Robert, her younger brother, Gilbert (Marilyn), and her younger sister, Jean Busby (Scott). She is awaiting being reunited with her son, Wendell (Lulu) and their children, Simon and Sarah (Nicholas Boileau), her daughter, Martha-Grace Clarke (Anthony) and their children, Grace-Anne, Hannah, Benjamin and Abigail, and her daughter, Abigail Mills (Jeremy) and their children, Olivia Russell (Samuel), Noah (Jocelin), and Julia, in that glorious heavenly forever home, when they too pass from this present world into eternity. Her great-granddaughter, Julia Russell, that boundless bundle of energy, also held a special place in her heart. A large number of nieces and nephews, spread from the east to the west coast of Canada, survive her as well.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd in the Sacred Space in the Beechwood National Memorial Centre in Vanier at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at 3:00 in the National Military Cemetery and a reception in the Beechwood Borden Fleming Suite at 3:30. Pallbearers will be her beloved descendants including her son, Wendell, her grandsons Simon Brown, Noah Mills, and Benjamin Clarke, and her grandsons-in-law Nicholas Boileau and Samuel Russell. Those unable to attend in person, may attend the service virtually via live stream

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Almonte General Hospital, the Ottawa Heart Institute, or Israel’s Hope Ministries of Canada would be appreciated.

To Martha, Abby and all of their family
I am saddened for your loss. Words cannot express the emptiness your family will endure during this traumatic time. But she is safe and well and in the arms of her loving Saviour. She is at peace and happy.

Dear Mr Brown - sad to hear about your wife’s passing. While it has been owner 40 years since I last saw your family, I whole heartedly remember the incredible hospitality she offered my friends and myself during our time at RMC. I trust you and your family are okay as I know the comfort of our Lord is with you all.

Despite her occasional reminder to call her Sarah, she has always been Mrs. Brown (and sometimes Nan). There are not enough words to capture Sarah's full essence. Mr. Brown and family I am deeply sorrowful for your loss. There are joyful and difficult times ahead as her legacy is recalled and her physical absence is intensely felt.

Bob. Very sorry to hear about Sarah, a cousin I never met. Our mutual Grandmother ( Ada Minnie) would have loved her like she loved all her other Grandchildren. And like me Sarah would have loved her back. May she rest in peace. Pete and Ann. Australia.

Dear Uncle,
We are so sorry that you have lost your beautiful Sarah twice. We loved her laugh, her singing, her beautiful flowers and her great cooking through the years. There was also a time that we appreciated her (and your) bathtub a lot for 6 whole weeks. May the good Shepherd comfort you through this Valley of the Shadow of Death with the hopes that you will be one day reunited in the Mansion He has promised you and you can once again sing to Him together with a Heavenly choir the Halleluiah Chorus. We love you and your family! - our family, and with you we will miss your witty bride for now. London, Ontario

Dear Robert,

Our hearts are with you in this difficult time . Sarah was a beloved sister in Christ, and her faith and light touched so many lives, including mine. While words cannot fully ease the sorrow you feel, we pray this message brings you some comfort and peace in Christ.

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.”
— Psalm 116:15

Sarah’s life was a testimony of the grace and love of our Savior. Her passing is not the end, but a glorious homecoming—into the arms of the One she loved and served so faithfully. Though the days ahead you may feel heavy, you know that you are not alone.

“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18

In this valley of sorrow, may you find rest in the promise of eternal life, where there is no more pain, no more tears, and no more death. You and Sarah will meet again, rejoicing forever in the presence of Christ.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.”
— Revelation 21:4

Until then, may the peace of God
, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

With heartfelt prayers and love,
Richard & Carol Lim

It takes great comfort to know our dear Sarah is now with our great Saviour Jesus. She is now standing with the redeemed beside Him, in a place where no tears will ever fall, where the glad songs of ages bring much delight in the presence of our Lord.

"Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? ", and one day, "this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality" 1Cor 15:54; 55; 53
