With hearts full of treasured memories, the Kipp family announces the sudden passing of Raun Kipp on May 18, 2020 at the age of 72.

Born in Ottawa on April 2, 1948, Raun is predeceased by her parents Bert Kipp Sr. and Jeanne (nee Julien), her brother Bert Kipp Jr., and her sister Joanne Kipp. Raun is survived by her sister Marlene Woods and her brothers William Kipp (Ann), Robert Kipp (Faye) and Michael Kipp. She is also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Raun led a successful career in the federal public service with various positions held at the National Capital Commission, Canada Border Services Agency and eventually retiring at the Canada Revenue Agency. She will forever be fondly remembered for being a connoisseur of all things Hollywood, an avid reader and for having a passion for travel, which brought her to many interesting places. A compassionate woman, with a generous heart and an endless love for her family, and friends she will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Raun’s life will be held in the very near future for family and friends once Public Health group limitations have been lifted so that all who loved her can safely come together. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “Les Filles de la Sagesse Canada” which held a special place in her heart.

It took me a long time to write in the obituary section a word for my dearest childhood friend, Raun. We were best friends from the age of 13 until now. We travelled together, spent weekends together at my place laughing our heads off. We knew all the same people, I loved her flamboyant style and her deep caring for her family and friends. We talked for hours, read together, wrote each other hundreds of pages of news and memories. We swore that we would leave and go on a long trip as soon as possible, just the two of us, so that we could relive our past before being too old. Raun was the funniest, most attentive and charismatic person that walked this earth. I was proud to be by her side. My children cried with me when they heard of her passing. She had always been in the picture and my children loved her, maybe because when she babysat them, she let them have cake for breakfast. I don't think anybody will ever be able to describe all her qualities. May God and all of us never forget her because she put colour in the lives of everything on earth. I miss you my true friend.

Bon repos, mon amie.

My dearest Raun, Since this is my second message, I might repeat myself. I want to offer my most profound condolences to your family who meant so much to you and to all who knew you and appreciated you. There are too many to count.
