Patricia lived an amazing life filled with travel, family, and running the town of Merrickville. Patricia moved to Canada in 1950 at the age of 19 and spent most of her life in Merrickville. She married Geoffrey Kaye Watson on May 29, 1954, and shared seven children, Ann, Julie, Jane (Dave), Michael (Pat), Susan (Jay), Geoff, and David (Cindy). Patricia also had amazing relationships with her daughters-in-law Joanne and Cathy, and her son-in-law Don. She was very loved by her grandchildren Trish (Colin), Cate (Ron), Sarah (Paul), Brad, Alexandra, Tom, Colleen, Claire (Simon), Matthew (Hailey), Sarah (Dave), Molly, Geoff, and William (Suzanne), great-grandchildren Dan (Gosia), Hazel, Harley, Aynslee, Kelsi (Michael), Hailey (Pat), Megan, and Mikayla and great-great-grandchildren Aria, Bianca, Lila, Amelia and Mabel-Rose. She will be greatly missed by her many friends who she met all around the world.
She was known for her passionate and intelligent views of the world, including politics, which she would often bring up at the dinner table. Patricia would fondly share stories of her travels around the world. Some of her favourite locations to spend time were the Lake District in the United Kingdom and Portugal. For most of her life she was a Travel Agent. She started her career at Healey Tours & Travel and finished her career as the manager of Thomas Cook for three locations in Ottawa. Patricia was a beloved and very important member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Merrickville. She was a force to be reckoned with and would help anyone she could, near and far. She was a huge part of Merrickville including being a member of the town council, school board, and Jazz Festival. All who knew her will miss her for her generosity, adventurous stories, humour, strong will and delicious baked goods. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Smiths Falls District Hospital for providing Patricia with such great care and respect.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church (106 Church St. Merrickville) on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Reception at the Church.
