Surrounded by his loving family at home, Michael “Mike” Sleiman passed on November 20, 2020. Although his death was sudden, he passed away peacefully, sitting in his favourite spot in the living room watching his favourite TV show. Beloved husband of Rose (née Moussa) for nearly 33 years. Devoted father of Charlaine, Joseph (Anastasia) and Marlo. Beloved son-in-law of Salwa Moussa. Dear brother of Joe (Noelle), Tony (Beverley), Terry, Louie and Sam. Predeceased by his parents Challita “Charlie” and Haifa (née Zeiter), as well as his dear sister Hesna Gebrail. He was born in Tourza, Lebanon, raised in Leamington, Ontario, and lived for most of his life with his wife and children in Ottawa. He worked close to 35 years as a chef in the city and some of his greatest memories were spent in the kitchen. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends in Canada, Lebanon and Europe.

Special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus. Mike spent quite a bit of time there over the last few years of his life, and he was always well taken care of. He spoke so fondly of all the doctors and especially the nurses.

The visitation will be held at Beechwood Cemetery on Tuesday, November 24 at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Due to the current regulations as set out by the provincial government and the limited capability allowed, the visitation and funeral will be limited to close family and friends. All other guests wishing to participate may do so virtually by using the live stream link below.

For those who wish, a memorial donation to the Ottawa General Hospital or to St. Charbel Maronite Church, Ottawa, would be greatly appreciated.

Marlo, my deepest condolences on your Dad's passing. I remember him as a happy person, always friendly and smiling, greeting everyone at Church. Losing a loved one is always sad and tragic. Take care of yourself and your Mom. Reach out anytime, we are here for you. May he rest in peace.
