It is with deep sorrow that the family of Mario Baylon Elvina (Bill), age 75, announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, January 4, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Mario is survived by his wife of 50 years, Juanita, his children, Jose Dario (Mary May), Rodrigo, Peter (Mel), Maria (Nevin), and Christine. Mario is cherished by his beloved grandchildren, Gerald, Jayden, Justin, Trisha, Alex, and Noah. He leaves behind brothers, Leopoldo, Ruben, Dionisio, and Enrico, and was pre-deceased by brothers, Angelito, Dante, Roldan, Dario (Mario’s twin), Ricardo and sister’s Florefis and Marilyn. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who loved him dearly.
Mario was born in Manila, Philippines to Pastor Elvina and Columbia Baylon. He loved fixing and driving cars and spent much of his young life driving Jeepney’s in the Philippines and transport trucks in the Middle East. Mario immigrated to Ottawa, Canada with his young family in January 1995, providing a better future for his children. He spent the rest of his career at Gilmore Printing Services until retiring at the age of 65.
Mario’s family would like to sincerely thank the Emergency and ICU teams at Queensway Carleton Hospital for the care, kindness and compassion.
