On Saturday, March 23, 2024, in her 94th year. Daughter of the late Beatrice and Alexander “Scottie” Moor.

Beloved mother of David Arthur (Tracy), Kathryn Arthur and the late Nancy Harper (John). Dear sister of Faye Makins (the late George Makins). Stepmother to the late Terry Thoburn, and Valerie Coombs.

Predeceased by husbands Desmond Arthur, David Thoburn and partner John Barkley. Aunt to George Makins (Pat) and Karen Poole (Curtis). Great Aunt to Matthew and Jordan Poole. Known as “Grandma T” to Tash (Erika), Courtney (Jordan), Rachel (Nicki), Daniel, Rob, Chrissie and Graham. Adoring great grandmother to Milo and Atlas and others on the way…

Throughout her lifetime she was blessed with a loving, caring, talented, musical, accomplished and adventuresome family, many relatives and friends. A special mention to the late Heather Cavaye (cousin), for her sister-like devotion and friendship over the years.

A graveside service is to be held at Beechwood Cemetery on Friday, July 5th at 11:00 a.m.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Marilyn was a beautiful soul and person. She held a special place in so many people’s hearts, including mine. I am blessed to have known such a lovely lady. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May Marilyn rest in peace.

I was lucky to meet Marilyn through my mom and dad, her dear friends, Chris and Jack Raymond. We’ve been blessed to know her and to receive her special Christmas cards over the years. We have kept these pieces of art; and her; and we will find a special place for them going forward. To know Marilyn is to have known light and sweetness. A life well lived but still gone too soon. My condolences to her family, who she loved deeply. Angie, John and Cassie

Such a shock to learn of Marilyn’s death. We have known Marilyn for more years than we can count and she was always such a lovely person to call a friend. We always looked forward to her special Christmas card which was truly a work of art. We all know that when you pass 90, there can not be a lot of living time left but Marilyn always was positive, upbeat and a joy to talk with as if there was an eternity of time to enjoy life. Marilyn will be missed by all who knew her and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to all of her family at this time. God bless
Sincerely
George and Kay

My sister Audrey Proulx and I have so many happy memories of growing up in the ‘40s living next door to Marilyn and Faye.
Marilyn was so artistic and played piano beautifully and we have been happy to see that her talents have continued in her family.
Audrey and I send our sincere condolences to the family.
