It is with a deep sense of loss that the family makes public the passing of Grant Edward Pennington on July 28th at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa. Born in Mount Royal, Montreal, Nov 12, 1933, Grant passed peacefully in hospital with his loving wife Monique and granddaughter Liz, by his side. His memory is cherished by Monique and their blended family of five children, their many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He celebrated his 12 years of service with the Canadian Forces and several decades with EDC. He will be fondly remembered for his love of sports, golfing and his ability to chisel magic on soapstone sculptures. A talent he developed during a 6 year stint as a navigator in the RCAF with 408 Squadron based in Rockcliffe, Ottawa. He had picked up and polished his first soapstone in Resolute Bay where he and other members of the squadron were completing the original mapping of Canada.

Grant loved gifting his sculptures to friends and family "I want to make people happy, I want them to smile and give them something to relate to."

To the many of us who loved him.

Interment will be at the National Military Cemetery in Ottawa, (Beechwood).

Words fail to express the sense of loss, but comforted by the many shared memories that warm our remembrances. Forever loved Dad.

Grant, I will miss your sense of humor, your perspectives and our discussion. We had the opportunity to travel together in Europe as just one big family. That has given us very found memories that we will carry them with us for the rest of our life.
You live in our memories for ever.
Fredrik
