It's with great sadness that the family of Lawrence (Larry) Rodney, share his sudden passing on October 8, 2024, at the age of 79. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Mary-Jean (Jean); children: Koryn (Steve) and Taryn; grandchildren: Ashley and Brodie; sisters: Emy & Heather (James) and sister-in-law: Cathryn; nephews Scott and Jim, Evan and Mason; great-niece Tiffany; as well as many relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his sister Nina Jean, his father Frank, his brother Darcy and his mother Betty.

At the age of 17, Larry left home with a grade 9 education to enlist in RCAF. At age 21, he was allowed to work night shifts and weekends at CFB Trenton, Ontario, so he could return to school and graduate with grade 11 from Trenton high school. When he was posted to CFB Lahr, Germany, he returned to school and graduated with grade 13. He then studied electronics and computer science, via correspondence, with DeVry Tech and completed his studies in person in Toronto when he was posted to CFB Uplands in Ottawa. He left the RCAF and, after 28 years, retired from Xerox Canada as a Systems Analyst.

Celebration of life will be held on November 30th at 11 am at the Manotick United Church, 5567 Manotick Main Street.

A private burial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Larry's honour to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or any charity of your choice.
