Born in New Westminster, B.C. on June 2, 1948, Kathryn (Kathy) Naud passed away surrounded by her loved ones at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa, on August 16, 2024. Pre-deceased by her parents Justin and Mary Ling, Kathy was the beloved wife of Claude, devoted mother of Chantal Gray (Rob) and Christopher Naud (Rachel), and proud grandmother of Emily, Brayden, and Tristan.
Kathryn, as an Air Force brat, journeyed through countless postings from B.C. eastward to eventually settle in Winnipeg. Fifty-three years ago, she became a military wife and continued her journey of crisscrossing our beautiful country from coast to coast including a posting in Sacramento, Ca. Extremely adept in organizing the household through our various moves, settling the children in new schools, making new contacts, she made it look so easy to us. Kathryn was a perfect ambassador whether as a proud representative of Canada, hostess, or official guest, people easily gravitated to her.
Through most of her adult life, she courageously battled her MS disease and yet she accomplished so much. She remained active, completing her university education at York University graduating cum laude, and achieving the status of master gardener. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling abroad, reading a good book (actually several), and of course sipping the odd glass of white wine.
A funeral service will be held at Beechwood Funeral Cemetery on Monday, 26 August 2024 at 2 pm. In memory of Kathy, donations to the MS Society Canada would be appreciated.

I first met Kathy in Saskatchewan and loved seeing her joy in scrapbooking. Back in Ontario my yearly lunches with Kathy and Claude were special for shared conversation and our love of gardening and dogs. Hers were hard years with MS and clearly getting harder but I never once heard Kathy complain - she was a force! We could all learn from Kathy Naud.

What sad news Claude, I am shocked having seen you and Kathy at Bill's wife Christine's funeral in April. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Take good care, Chuck
