It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Marilyn Bhumgara on August 23, 2025, at the age of 80. Joan was the beloved wife and lifelong partner of Noel. She was the most wonderful and devoted mother to Michael, David (Tammy), Anne, and Christine (Bruce), and a proud and adoring grandmother to Chloe, Nicholas, Griffin, and Kai, who were constant sources of happiness in her life. Daughter of Arsene and Pearl, Joan is also survived by her dear brother Gary (Cindy). Joan will be remembered for her rare and boundless kindness and thoughtfulness. She had a gift for making others feel special — whether by remembering birthdays and milestones, finding the perfect gift, or offering a compassionate shoulder to lean on. She loved a good laugh and valued the connections she made throughout her life. Her friendships, especially with her cherished circle of girlfriends, meant the world to her and brought her immense joy. Above all, Joan adored her family and extended family. Her warmth and love was whole-hearted and unconditional. She had a remarkable way of making every new in-law, partner or friend feel instantly welcomed and loved as one of her own.
We love her “to the moon and back”.
We invite family and friends to join us for a mass at 11am followed by a celebration of life on August 29th, 2025 hosted by her loving community at the Good Shepherd Church, 3092 Innes Road, Ottawa, ON K1W 1C8. In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations to The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ottawa https://tinyurl.com/CHEO-Donate-Now

Dear Bhumgara family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Bhumgara was a beautiful person -- so kind and loving. I have fond memories of her growing up and always enjoyed a quick catch-up when running into her at store. She will be greatly missed.

I worked with Joan many years ago and remember well her lively and warm personality. My deepest condolences to her family.

My deepest sympathies go out to Noel on the loss of his wife Joan. While I never had the opportunity to meet Joan, I was fortunate to have worked with Noel when he was in charge of Space Program procurements for the Government of Canada. Knowing Noel as I do, I know that he will miss his lifelong partner very much.
Best regards and deepest sympathies

Most sincere condolences to the entire Bhumgara and Janisse families.
My husband Ray and I met Joan through my sister Pat Haskill. She was a wonderful woman...even remembering our 50th anniversary, for which she sent us a gift. Such a lovely, loving woman! Kathy & Ray Stephenson
