It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jean-Claude on December 23, 2024, at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Allard (née Bisson), children Elizabeth (Paul Dupuis), Patrick (Bonnie O'Bier) and Hélène (André Cyr), grandchildren Sophie, Maya, Gabrielle, Marisol, Stéphanie and Simon.
Brother of René, Robert, Louise, Danielle and the late Michel, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends.
Jean-Claude joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1958 and served in Germany, Egypt and Canada. He finished his career as Commander of the Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa. In retirement, Jean-Claude pursued his passion for genealogy, while working with the Association du Royal 22e Régiment.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Ottawa Hospital for the care of Jean-Claude.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday January 24, 2025 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, after 12 noon. A religious ceremony will be held in the Sacred Space at 1:00pm, followed by a reception.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Fondation Général Vanier du Royal 22e Régiment.
