On November 5th, 2022, we said goodbye to a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a friend.

His family would like to pay tribute to this wonderful man by celebrating his life and sharing memories with all those who had a small place in the heart of our dear Jack.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Borden & Fleming Suites of Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue Ottawa, ON.

                                 *********************************************************************************

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Jack Douglas Wiebe, 88 years of age, of Ottawa, after a brief illness. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary and his sister Betty (Hildebrand). Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Carmelle, his children Deborah (Pat) and Jeffrey (Lori), his two grandchildren Jack and Amanda, his sister Eileen (Johnny Krahn) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his kind generous nature, his million-dollar smile, his deep ‘’you should be on radio” voice, his ever-present sense of humor, and his penchant for using big words. His lifelong struggles with a polio disability and chronic asthma never held him back.

He was loved and will be missed more than words can say. A Celebration of Life will be planned for the Spring of 2023.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Lung Association.

I only knew Jack and Carmelle for a few years. We met at Tim Hortons and
our friendship grew. Two of the nicest people I know. I'll miss our afternoon break.

Such a beloved Uncle, such a warm personable man. Always so comfortable around him. His was truly one of a kind of gentleman you don't see much of anymore. This news is of deep sadness to us. Once again our deepest condolences.

This is a beautiful tribute to your Dad and our uncle, highlighting his constantly good nature, his love of life and family & friends, and the admiration and love that anyone who knew him always had for him. Uncle Jack, the “Silver Fox” as he was affectionately known by many, will always live on in our hearts and minds. Our sincerest condolences to your Mom, you & Pat, Jeff and Lori and Little Jack, and all the family and friends of the Wiebe family. May your Dad rest in everlasting peace. Love, Ray & Loraine

Deb, heartfelt sympathies on this huge loss. I'm sorry I did not get to meet your dad but I know he was like a grandfather to Olivia.
Take comfort in the memories.

My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Wiebe, Jeff, Debbie and family.

It has been my pleasure to have known and spent much time at the Wiebe residences, in Beacon Hill & Orleans. Such a wonderful and loving family, always there to greet me with a warm inviting smile. I have many fond memories as a youngster, Jeff, I and other neighbourhood friends would often gather at their home. Always a pleasant time.

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Wiebe for your ever generous hospitality. I believe a life well lived Mr. Wiebe, may you rest in piece.

Much love
Paul
