It is with great sadness that we would like to announce the passing of our beloved father/husband/son/brother, Hồ Hải Nguyễn on March 11, 2026.

Born in Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. Hồ immigrated to Canada as part of the second wave of Vietnamese Boat People. Upon arriving in Canada, he worked and studied hard to pursue higher education (B.Eng, M.Eng, M.BM, P.Eng), and had a fourty year career as an ASIC designer.

Not only was he a brilliant man, he was a devoted family man. Hồ worked hard to sponsor his mother, siblings and their families to Canada.

He is survived by Anne (Daughter), Thanh (Wife), Hệ (Mother), Sơn (Brother), Hải (Brother), Giang (Sister), Thủy (Sister), Long (Brother), Phương (Brother), and Loan (Sister).

The family funeral service and visitation will be held at Beechwood Cemetery. The family funeral service will be on March 26, 2026 at 1PM in the Sacred Space, followed by a visitation from 2-4PM.

Your presence is the only gift we need.

I don't remember when I started working with Ho. But I do remember Ho's smile. RIP. Ho.

My own family is deeply grateful to Ho. He is a role model for future generations in our big family to follow.

Chu Ho changed the trajectory of my life, my family’s life, and our entire extended family. When I was young, he used to come over on Saturdays over several years to tutor me in programming and computer science. It was he that encouraged and guided me to become an engineer. He told me, go into engineering if you love building things. It was one of the best pieces of advice I ever received and I am glad I listened to him. He loved learning and taught himself German part time during evenings and weekends. He also had 2+ Master degrees. He imparted that love of learn into me. We all owe him a great debt due to the good deeds he made to help his family, and the courage and bravery he demonstrated, both in life and during his long illness. I will miss him deeply and remember his deeds for the rest of my life.

To my husband

Thank you Ho for being by my side for thirty-two years, sharing the happiness and sadness with me.

You have fulfilled my dreams to be a wife, a mother, to have high education, and a good career. My life was lonely before I met you. You liked to look after everything for us; our daughter's education, my career, and vacations etc. Even when you were sick, you still took care of Anne and I 's future without you. You were a courageous person. You kept fighting with the disease so that you could live independently.

Ho, you are forever in my heart.

Your wife,
Thanh

I first met Ho in the mid 2000. We worked on the same project for a bit then our paths crossed again, when we started working on transport ASICs. I have always respected Ho for his strong beliefs and his dedication. His loss is a very sad one. My sincere sympathies to the family.

Words cannot describe the big loss that we are experiencing. We will always remember Ho and his good deeds that he demonstrated throughout his life.

Thank you to Anne and Thanh for being his pride and joy for the past thirty years of his life. Also a big thank you for those who helped taking care of him such as doctors, nurses as well as Anne, Thanh, Giang, Hai, MaryLynn ... during his difficult time.

Last but not least, thanks to all those that left a message here and those that attended and participated in the service and visitation day... Please excuse us if there is any thing that was amissed.

Rest In Peace, Ho !

Rest in peace, bác Hồ. Although our recent connection was through the screen and over emails, the distance didn’t lessen the weight of your wisdom. Your advice and the knowledge you shared have been such a gift to me. Your encouragement regarding my daughter’s education gave me such strength and clarity. Thank you again. We all miss you

Van
