It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Henry (Hank) Johnson, age 74,Ottawa, on May 4th, 2022 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital as a result of multiple organ failure. He was preceded in death by his wife Wendy Johnson (Eastman).

He is survived by wife Patricia Faguy (Nicholson), children Tara Johnson (Kailey and Kyler Oates) and Erin Ruscica (Joseph, Emily and William).  He lived his full life in Ottawa, attending Woodroffe HIgh School, Algonquin College and working until retirement for the Federal Government (Fisheries, Museums and Public Works ). He enjoyed travel, particularly the many years of convoying to Florida for March breaks or for winters with fellow snowbirds, as well as the occasional trip abroad including to Ireland to connect with his roots. He is well loved as a son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a grandfather.  He was always present for his family, his work and his sports. He became a caregiver to Wendy and worked to provide support and comfort in their later years together.  He loved baseball and hockey and became a well respected coach and mentor to many in both minor hockey (Ottawa West Golden Knights (late 70’s) Gloucester Rangers (90’s), Cumberland Minor Hockey(2000’s and minor softball Orleans Elite (90’s) associations. In his senior years, he took up golf with the same passion.  Henry (Hank) was a fierce friend, teammate and competitor, always willing to step up and take on a challenge, beloved by all who knew him.  He will be forever remembered for his demeanor as family leader, his commitment to others and his kindness. Hank, I will always remember fondly how you welcomed me into your home, you and Wendy alwasy being the best hosts, so quick to provide a drink and your quick wit. We golfed together, visited in Florida, countless other visits, and you even helped me with my first pool. Your kindness and generosity, along with you being fun to hang out with, will always be remembered and missed. My deepest condolences to your girls and grandchildren, and to Pat. Rest easy my friend. I miss you already.

Henry was a great and loyal friend to many. He was always willing to do anything for his family, friends and his community. Very sad to see his active life end after 74 short years. Our sincerest condolences to his wife Pat, his daughters Tara and Erin, his 5 grand children and the rest of the Johnson clan.

Henry was a great friend to our family for many years and was one of Ricks best friends since grade school. Sadly Rick passed away this March so now they are together again. RIP

Hank - You were my BIG brother from the time you first dated Wendy ...... and I was in high school. You were there for me through all the years of schooling, marriage, work, and play in so many ways, with the same kindness, dedication and fun others were also lucky to experience. You are missed, every day. We'll never forget you!!
Rest In Peace, "Coach".
