Eryanne Helen passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on February 23, 2020. Eryanne was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Mary, her brothers Ronald and Earl and her sister Eileen. She is survived by sisters Lois, Connie, Theresa and Catherine and brothers Patrick and Michael.

Eryanne is survived by her loving and caring husband of 62 years, Keith Nelson Lively, sons Michael (Petra Pohl) of Waterloo Ontario, Tony (Kelly) of Grande Prairie Alberta, and Steven (Marcia Mills) of Ottawa Ontario.

Eryanne was a cherished Grandmother to Matthew and Jonathon (Michael), Chelsey, Tina and Carly (Tony) and Liam (Steven). Eryanne also has 6 great grandchildren (Tony).

Eryanne was born in Dalhousie New Brunswick, into a large Irish Catholic family with 9 siblings. Seeking a life of adventure, Eryanne joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1956 where she met and fell in love with Keith, her partner for life. Following the birth of her first son Michael, Eryanne left the military to focus on raising her 3 sons during Keith’s military postings in Europe (Baden Baden), the Maritimes (Greenwood) and Northern Alberta (Cold Lake) among other postings throughout Canada.

Eryanne met every military move with the spirit that only a military wife would understand, ensuring her boys were always looked after and their homes filled with books, knowledge and opportunities. Eryanne was an artist, voracious reader and had a special love for Toby her loyal pet and companion.

Despite medical setbacks, Eryanne was nonetheless full of spirit and was ready to be accepted into heaven with the strength and grace of an angel.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Ottawa General Hospital for their care during her brief stay as well as the staff at Orchard Walk Retirement Community for making her new home comfortable.

Eryanne will be interned at the National Military Cemetery at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Service and reception begin at 2pm.

For those who wish, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
