Son of the late Earl Sr. and Gracia Istead.  Predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ethel.  He will be dearly missed by his sister Doris. Predeceased by siblings Doug, Ronald, George, Cora and Gordon.  Much loved by his children Joanne (Jesper), Linda (Vernon), Danny (Sheila), Karen (Brian) and Patrick (Cathy).  Proud grandfather to Erik, Jonelle, Graeme, Coady, Jason, Lyndsay, Jordan, Christopher, Brandon, Kaitlin, Nicole and Michelle.  He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family, including Ethel’s siblings Louise, Carole (Ray), Gail (Dennis), the late Rachel (Art) and the late Mark.

He was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces from 1950 to 1980. From 1980 to 1992 Earl worked with the Senate Protective Services. He was also a proud member of the Hylands Golf Course for many years.  A special thanks to the Waterford Retirement Home and Ideal Care Givers 4U Inc.

I feel great sadness hearing of Earls passing. A kind, gentle, caring man who was a great friend to my dad over the years. The military brought them together over 60 years ago. I loved hearing their stories which always were about a whole lot of laughter and fun times. May they Rest In Peace.
