Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022.  Dennis leaves behind his loving wife, Celine (Boucher), his children Dylan (Marie-Claude), Ellis (Tracy) and Martin (Rachel).  He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Dahlianne, Jennie, Camille, Alyssa, Millie, and Ida.

A hard-working civil servant (Film Archivist at the National Archives of Canada) and proud Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan, in retirement he and Celine enjoyed caring for the house in Kanata, spending time at the cottage on Round Lake, their property in Brudenell and Boca Raton Florida.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave.) on Tuesday, May 17th at 1pm.

Dear Celine and family:

Marc and I were so deeply saddened to hear of your loss. We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences and wish you strength in the days ahead. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Since you were our neighbours for 39 years, we have so many fond memories of Dennis. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He also took such great pride in and care of his property. He was always cleaning, washing and doing maintenance on his car, and cutting grass, weeding, trimming, building and repairing. We remember him always as being friendly and eager to share a chuckle or conversation, especially with both Dennis and Marc being avid Toronto Maple Leaf fans.

It will take some time for the sorrow and pain you are experiencing now to heal but may you find comfort as you share wonderful stories and beautiful memories of how very much Dennis meant to you all. It is these beautiful memories that will keep him with you in your heart because those we have laughed with, learned from, leaned on, and loved most will live on in memory forever.

Dennis, thanks for being our neighbour and making our lives so pleasant. It’s a wonderful thing and a blessing to have good people in your life. We will miss you dearly.

Dear Celine and Family,
Sue and I are so sorry for your loss and send our deepest and heartfelt condolences.
I have known Dennis for at least 65 years. We grew up in the same neighbourhood in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto. We lived, played, attended school together, and most often taking the same courses in high school. We were like brothers always tagging along or doing similar things. I fondly remember singing Beatles songs with him, while walking home from school, and we both did sing in our neighbourhood band made up of close friends (including John Preston, Bruce & Terry McClay) . We took a photography course at Ryerson and spent endless hours developing film/photos in the dork room in my basement. We both worked for the Toronto Police Department in administrative roles for a short time. We both fell in love with Round Lake and then each bought a lakefront lot, yes, beside each other.
I am so blessed to have been a part of his life, he was like a brother, and more. He was a moral compass, a guiding light, he was someone you would be proud to call your friend.
Bon voyage Dennis! You’ll be missed and you’ll forever be in our minds with fond memories and in our hearts with love.
Your friend, Tony
