Denis passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC, on December 6, 2024, at the age of 86.

Beloved husband to Louise Rivest and to Louisette Adam (deceased 1989). He also leaves behind his children: Daniel (Penny), Josée (Pierre), Patricia (Scott); his grand-children: Kellen, Hailey, Logan; his wife’s children: Christian (Nathalie) and Claude Boucher; his step-grandchildren, Florence and Naomi; his sister Jeannine (Léo), his brothers Jean (Lucie), Roger (late Lise), late Pierre (late Lynda), as well as his sister-in-law Suzanne Adam (Jacques).

He will also be missed by his friends from the Trafalgar/Pro Patria Legion 292 (Victoria), where for many years, he and his wife Louise, were devoted volunteers.

Born in Sherbrooke in 1938, Denis enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1955. During his more than 35 years of service, he served in Werl (Germany), and at CF bases Valcartier, Chilliwack, and Borden, as well as the Citadelle de Québec. In addition, he completed a tour with the UN in Cyprus in 1969. He ended his career at Force Mobile Command Headquarters in St-Hubert.

He was proud to serve his country and just as proud of his family. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and skiing. In his later years, he pursued a passion for travel and dancing.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service or reception. A private family farewell will be held in the Spring at the National Military Cemetery.
