On November 14, 2020 Darlene Bella Pryor (Thomson), at age 74 passed away peacefully with her loving husband, Claude, by her side in the comfort of their home.

Born in Halifax on July 25, 1946 to Clarence and Mary (Kiley) Thomson. Raised in the Oceanside community of Seabright by her beloved Cecil Thomson and Lillian (Hubley).

Darlene and Claude’s love was an epic one. Meeting in Sarnia on a blind date in the summer of 1968. As Darlene descended the staircase in pink pedal pushers, their eyes locked, and an instant spark was formed. That spark grew into the deepest love. Together they were one perfect person.There was nothing they could not accomplish.

Her tenacity and undying commitment to hard work along with an obsession for numbers lead her to build their family company with her husband. Darlene thrived as the Comptroller for over 35 years.

A strong Matriarch fiercely protective and dedicated to her family. Survived by husband of 51 years Claude Pryor children Julie, Lisa (Dan), Craig (Chantale) and grandchildren;
Charlotte , Lilly, Maya, Noah, Zach, Riley. Predeceased by grandson Dominick. She is and forever will be their heart and soul.

Sister Gloria Coughlan (James), Fall River, NS, Brother Gary Thomson (Mildred), Hammonds Plains, NS, Brother Barrie Thomson (Ann), Arizona. Darlene was a gracious hostess who’s culinary skills were truly appreciated. She happily welcomed friends and family to enjoy her company. She will be remembered for her kind heart, perseverance, warm spirit and giving nature. She loved her family!

A private family burial will take place on Friday, November 20th at 3pm in Beechwood Cemetery. Donations can be made to OrKidstra, “a charitable social development program that empowers kids from under-served areas of Ottawa by teaching life skills through playing and singing music together”. This charity compliments Darlene’s love for children and appreciation for music. https://orkidstra.ca/support/donation-options/

This is one of those times when life gets harder for loved ones and tends to give others the time to reflect on life's path. My path led me to work for the Pryors for almost 2 decades I got to know Darlene and Claude as two of the most caring individuals and to this day I still consider them to be the best bosses I ever had. (Claude thought he was in charge but we all knew better). Darlene was a wonderful person and everyone is better off having known her.Tears will eventually become smiles when you think of her. Thank you for making a difference in so many peoples lives. God bless you during these difficult times.

JCP and family,
Please accept my belated sorrows for your loss.
There are many fond memories of Darlene in my mind. And I recall Claude refer to Darlene's prowess at balancing the books to the penny. I also remember how hard she worked and how much she cared for her family. Darlene and Claude both had a positive influence on who I am today. I am better for having known her.
Please take very good care.
MR
