Passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, attended by her loving husband Dan, in Ottawa, Ontario. She has led a courageous, long-term battle with cancer. Cristina is survived by her devoted husband Dan, to whom she was married for 50 years.  She was the proud mother of Philip born in 1983, currently an IT engineer, who has studied and worked abroad and now returns to Canada, and Roxana (Rob) born in 1988, currently a lawyer with CBC Vancouver.

She is grieved by her dear sister Ruxandra (Dehn), her niece Viviana (Adam), her cousin Silvica (Ion) and numerous loving, life-long friends.

Cristina (nee Bogdan) was born and educated in Bucharest, Romania, where she graduated from the Polytechnic Institute with a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. She worked in research at the Power System Design and Development Institute, Bucharest. After 1980, settled in Canada, she worked first as an electrical engineer at the National Energy Board and later at the Coast Guard. In 1983, being such a loving and devoted daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, she and Dan sponsored and financially supported both her parents, mother-in-law, and grandmother in their emigration process to Canada.

Animated always by a positive outlook and a generous nature, Cristina pursued diligently her daily activities, be they professional or personal, along with a sustained personal spiritual search.

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services for a Visitation on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Religious Funeral Service officiated in Beechwood’s Sacred Space at 1:00 p.m. Cristina’s internment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, in the family Necsulescu’s plot, followed by a short Reception for her numerous friends and relatives, who will all miss deeply Cristina’s graceful and serene presence in their lives.

Donations in memory of Cristina Necsulescu may be made to May Court Hospice or The Canadian Cancer Society.

We learned of Cristina‘s death with deep sorrow and are very sad that we were not able to say goodbye to her.
Our hearts and thoughts are with those she left behind - Dan, Philip and Roxana… Especially today we regret not being at your side to walk the last walk with her.
She was a loving, warm-hearted and cheerful person whose laughter and good humour were very catching.
We will miss her very much.
It is a farewell, but not a forgetting.
Te pup, Cristina, cu mult drag!

Dear Dan,

I just wanted to send my deepest condolences. Cristina was a wonderful person and I will never forget her smile and laugh, and how much she cared about her family. She's someone I am forever grateful for crossing paths with and I have no doubt her warmth and kindness has inspired many others, as it has me with my family. May she rest in peace.
