It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bahij Arbach in Ottawa,  on June 25, 2022 at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of Edith Arbach (Baladi). Loving father to his two daughters Natalie and Maya.  Son of the late Ayoub Daoud Arbach and Olga Habib Daoud.  Brother to Emma Arbach Abou Tara, Daoud Arbach, Etidal Arbach L'Heureux, and the late Hanna, Michel, Claire, Joseph, Habib, and Zouhair.

Bahij was born in Yabroud (Syria) on May 31, 1942.  He spent his early years in Yabroud, then worked as a Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus in Syria.  In 1978 he went to Paris (France) where he obtained a Doctorate of Fine Arts in painting and engraving from the 'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts'.  After his graduation he moved to Ottawa (Canada) where he has been living since.

Bahij enjoyed a long career as an artist. He held numerous art exhibitions of paintings and created an impressive number of etchings, representing different Canadian monuments and sceneries.

Family will be receiving relatives and friends at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, Ottawa, ON K1K 3W5 on Saturday July 9, 2022 after 10 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. followed by interment and reception at Beechwood Cemetery.
