With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Ashley on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at the age of 39. Surrounded by her loving parents, Daniel and Cheryl, her sister Robyn and fiancé Chris, Ashley’s suffering has finally ended.

Ashley was always a fighter, never giving up. Starting with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, Ashley dealt with serious medical issues her entire life. From early on to her greatest battle with metastatic breast cancer in March 2023, she never quit the fight.

She underwent many types of treatment to beat this horrific disease and did so with bravery, integrity and grace. She so desperately wanted more time with her family and friends (as we all did, too), and was willing to undergo more chemotherapy, radiation and other treatments to continue fighting.

Ashley’s memory will live on through her parents, sister, future brother-in-law, extended family, friends, and her soon-to-be nephew.

Celebration of Life will be held for Ashley on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON. The Celebration will begin at 10:00 am with a service for family and friends to share memories, followed by a reception.

The family kindly requests donations to the Diabetes Association of Canada and/or to Breast Cancer Canada, instead of flowers.

Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

Ashley was an incredible person in so many ways. Talented and smart in her professional career, caring and generous with her family and friends, and a quick wit and sense of humor that was hard to match. I'll remember fondly all of our talks about hockey (Sens vs. Habs), football (Pats vs Chiefs), golf, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head and so much more. I'll miss my fellow Virgo. My sincere condolences to her family.

Ashley was my cube neighbour at work. We chatted almost daily during her time at our office. She was so kind, funny and a lovely person to be around. She loved her friends and family so much. Sending so much love and support to her family and friends.

So shocked to hear of the loss of your beloved Ashley. We will always have fond memories of our kids camping together and the outings our families had during that time. Keep your good memories of Ashley close to your heart as you go through these hard days. You are in our prayers.
Love and hugs to your family

I am heartbroken. I think we can all agree that Ashley was the absolute best at being a sister, daughter, best friend, friend and colleague. I always admired her dedication to those she loved. It was so wonderful to hear about your celebrations at Red Lobster, bridal parties, pickleball games, and cheering at hockey and curling. My thoughts and love go out to all loved ones feeling this profound loss.

My heart is breaking at this news. Ashley will always be remembered as such a wonderful person. I had the privilege of working with her for a number of years and her talent, smarts and wit were always inspiring. I feel truly blessed to have known her. I hope all her friends and family find comfort is these beautiful memories. The pain of her loss just goes to show just how much she was loved.
