Alida (Lyda) Enders (nee Van Lambalgen) was born in 1937 in Soest, the Netherlands, as the second of eight children. She lived through the German occupation of Holland. Together with her family, she immigrated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1955. In Saskatoon, she started working as a seamstress, a talent she used for many years. There she also met her future husband, David Douwe Enders. They were later married in 1959.

As a navy wife, she lived across Canada and Europe, including Halifax, Victoria, Ottawa, as well as cities in Holland, England, and Germany, before finally settling in Port Moody, BC.

She will be missed dearly by her husband David, her children: Joanne Enders O’Mara (Martin O'Mara), Marinus Gerald Enders (Cheryl Enders) and Leane Helene Marie Walsh (John Walsh), her surviving siblings: Johanna Bowland, Jeannette Toews (Ernie), Arnie Van Lambalgen (Noreen), Leo Van Lambalgen and Robert Van Lambalgen (Monzine), her grandchildren: Chris Enders (Véronique), Allison Hynes (David), and Kyle Murray (Jasmine), her great grandchildren: Greyson Hynes, Leo Hynes and Arthur Enders, and many nieces and nephews, who she loved more than anything.

She was independent and saved every cent but generous all the same. She enjoyed her trips to Saskatoon with her sisters, bowling, casinos, her gardens, and her beloved Buddy, Muffet and crow children. She stayed in touch with friends from everywhere and will be greatly missed.

A funeral service for Alida will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Beechwood Funeral Home, which will be followed by a burial at the Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we would like to suggest making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
