Join us at Beechwood Cemetery for a special afternoon of healing, connection, and musical therapy. This concert is specifically designed for individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer's, offering a peaceful and uplifting environment where the power of music can bring comfort and joy. The event will feature live performances of familiar and soothing melodies, carefully selected to engage the memory and emotions of those affected by these conditions.
The musician's will be Gertrude Létourneau and Catherine Donkin, a piano and flutist duo.
Music has been shown to have profound therapeutic benefits for individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing an opportunity for self-expression, emotional connection, and cognitive stimulation. The rhythms, harmonies, and lyrics of music can evoke memories and create moments of clarity, allowing attendees to reconnect with the present and with each other.
This concert is brought to you by AMICA Glebe and in partnership with Chamberfest and Beechwood Cemetery.
