It is with great sadness that our dear Renée passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026 at the age of 82. Born in Grand-Mère, Québec, she was the daughter of Lucien Deschênes and Lauriane Demers.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years of marriage, Pierre, her two children Anne and Marc-André (Marie-Claude Tremblay), as well as her grandchildren Catherine, Isabelle, Kolya, and Mara. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Claude, Jean (Carole Brouillette), and Paul (Hélène Marchand), as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Renée had a long and distinguished career in the House of Commons. Her dedication, meticulous work and reliability made her a valued employee. She enjoyed life to the fullest through her favorite hobbies of golf, tennis and bridge, as well as traveling. She was particularly fond of preparing good meals to share with her family and friends. Renée was the pillar, the quiet strength, who united her family.
As a gesture of sympathy, the family invites you to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Montfort Hospital Foundation in Ottawa.
The funeral will take place at a later date in Grand-Mère, Québec.

Affectueusement,
Denise
