It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Uriah Grant on March 6, 2026, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth and wisdom touched everyone who knew him.
Born in Trinidad, Uriah carried the vibrant spirit, culture, and faith of his homeland with him throughout his life. He loved the Lord deeply and lived his life with a quiet strength, guided by faith, kindness, and a generous heart.
Uriah was the proud father of five children: Vanessa, Sean, Uricalee, Dawn, and Nigel. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Aaliyah and Elijah (children of Vanessa); Seanta and Ester (children of Sean and his spouse Monique); Brooklynn and Nia (children of Uricalee and her spouse Andrew); Adelyne and Navier (children of Dawn); and Savannah (child of Nigel). Each of them held a special place in his heart and brought him immense pride and joy.
He was also a beloved brother who deeply loved and cherished his sisters and brothers. Family meant everything to Uriah, and he nurtured those bonds with laughter, advice, and unwavering support.
Uriah had a lively spirit and many passions. He loved the sound of the steel pan, which reminded him of home and filled the air with joy. Known for his humor, he could always make people laugh, yet he also carried a depth of wisdom and was never short of thoughtful words when someone needed guidance. In the kitchen, he was unmatched—famous among family and friends for cooking the best soup, a dish made with love that brought everyone together.
He also shared a special bond with his precious dog, Mindy, who brought him comfort and companionship.
Uriah Grant leaves behind a legacy of faith, laughter, love, and family. Though he will be missed dearly, the memories he created and the lessons he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He will never be forgotten.
For those who wish to attend on Friday, March 13th, 2026, there will be a visitation starting at 11am, with memorial service held at 1pm, followed by inurnment and reception. All to be held at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa).
