It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Donald Gascon, who left us on February 18th, 2026, at the age of 61, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
James leaves behind his beloved wife, Roslyn; his children, Kaitlyn and Kyle; his loving mother, Mary; and his brother Jeffrey. Predeceased by his father, Kenneth Gascon.
James will be remembered for his quick wit, corny jokes, and the laughter that followed him wherever he went. His warm smile and natural ability to bring humor into any situation made him someone people were drawn to. No matter the setting, he had a way of lifting spirits and bringing comfort to all those around him.
After a dedicated 34-year career with OC Transpo, James retired with many friendships and memories that he carried with him. He treasured his time with his coffee club buddies, where laughs and stories were shared, and looked forward to his poker nights with the boys, filled with camaraderie and plenty of good-natured banter.
James will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter, kindness and unmistakable sense of humor will forever echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A celebration of life in the presence of his ashes will be held on Thursday March 5th, 2026, at Beechwood Cemetery from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
A time for remembering to take place at 2:30pm .
For those who wish to do so, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
The family wishes to thank La Maison de l’Est Hospice for the compassionate care.
